Narrative:
Trump is trying to make a new nuclear deal with Iran. It’s about limiting their nuclear program and handing over enriched uranium. Just classic diplomacy.
Reality:
This is much more than a normal deal.
Trump is once again applying his Maximum Pressure strategy: maximum economic sanctions, giving Israel room to dismantle Iran’s proxies (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis), and forcing Iran to make major concessions. Iran is economically exhausted and under enormous internal pressure.
The most explosive part is what happens to the enriched uranium. If Iran has to hand over large quantities and this material can be isotopically traced, an interesting possibility arises:

In 2010, under Obama and Hillary Clinton, Uranium One (a company with American uranium mines) was sold to the Russian state company Rosatom. There were large donations to the Clinton Foundation by involved parties. Many critics suspect that part of this uranium later found its way to Iran via Russia or other channels.
If Trump now demands that Iran hands over enriched uranium and it turns out to be traceable to material from the Uranium One deal, that would be a political bombshell.
