The Narrative
Modern feminism has liberated women. They are economically independent, no longer dependent on a man, and happier than ever before. Criticism of this is sexist and outdated.

The Reality โ€“ Multiple Layers

Layer 1: Economic Dependence
Women have not become freer โ€” they have mostly become dependent on the job market and the state instead of a man. Two full-time incomes are now often required to afford an average household.

Layer 2: Demographic Impact
To maintain a stable population, a fertility rate of 2.1 children per woman is needed.
In the Netherlands it has been hovering around 1.4 โ€“ 1.5 for decades (CBS). One of the lowest figures ever recorded.

Layer 3: Mental Health
Despite all the promises of liberation, women use significantly more psychotropic drugs than men:

Layer 4: Divorce and Relationship Breakdown

Layer 5: The Disappearing Choice
The choice to be a full-time mother and homemaker has practically disappeared due to:

Layer 6: The Ideological Price
Modern feminism has systematically devalued motherhood and traditional male roles. Result: many young men and women are struggling to form stable, long-term relationships.

The OIM Way Out
Real liberation means real choice for both women and men:

Without economic necessity, social pressure, or government interference.
A healthy society values both masculine and feminine contributions and does not force everyone into one ideological mold.

Question to you
Has modern feminism actually made women happier and freer, or have we mainly created new forms of dependence, loneliness, and demographic decline?
