On Thursday there was an open hearing in Leeuwarden in a civil case against the State, Mark Rutte, Bill Gates, Albert Bourla and others. The plaintiffs claim they suffered damage from the COVID vaccines.
Case number C/17/190788 / HA ZA 23-172. There was a livestream. The verdict comes later.
What was not there
In the national media there was almost nothing about it that day. No live coverage, no background piece, no mention in the evening news. On social media it came by only sparingly.
A case in which the State, a former prime minister and the top of Pfizer and the Gates Foundation are being sued is not a small local dispute. Yet it stayed quiet.
The count
The hearing was public and could be followed digitally.
The major media did almost nothing with it.
That is not a judgment on the case.
That is an observation about the reporting.
In earlier work, where I tracked fraudsters in the hospitality sector among other things, such silence would be a red flag. Not because the content is thereby proven, but because selective silence is information. What is not reported disappears from view.

Do not get ahead of the verdict.
Do name the silence.
An open hearing that is not reported is not a neutral choice.

Whoever does not follow the hearing has only what the major media do or do not show.
