In pop, trauma is allowed. Drugs. Politics. Identity. Occult aesthetics.
Christ makes the room go quiet — or venomous.
Not because nobody may believe in God.
Because the microphone belongs to the industry.
YouTube is the file: the comments are rarely about the record. They are about whether he still belongs to the club.
Corgan said it himself: if I cannot be honest about who I am, what am I asking a fan to believe in?
