RVN: Acceptance of gay people – the peak is off, the headline stays
de Volkskrant, NRC: acceptance among pupils is collapsing. Boys almost halved. Girls from 78 to 51.
HBSC, 6,600 pupils. That figure is real.
The chart underneath is quieter.
A rise until around 2021. Then down. Outcome: roughly the level of 2009, when they first asked.
Not a collapse out of nowhere.
A peak coming off.
What they do and do not explain
The drop is in every group. Vocational and pre-uni. Rich and poor. The lead researcher: not because of migration.
At the same time: young people with a migration background are less often positive (about 31 versus 40).
Amsterdam GGD: last year already less than half called it “normal”.
That is one bucket. Not the only one.
Anyone who only says “manosphere” covers the composition.
Anyone who only says “immigrant” covers the drop among native-born boys.
The letters
LGB was orientation.
Then the umbrella: identity, school language, Purple Friday as curriculum.
Saturation is not proof.
It is the question the headline skips: is acceptance of two men falling, or acceptance of the package around it.
