RVN: Trump cuts off federal funding for transgender treatments on children
This week the Trump administration made a definitive decision:
Medicaid and CHIP will no longer cover puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or gender surgeries for minors starting in October.

What actually happens in these pathways:
Puberty blockers followed by cross-sex hormones in boys frequently result in an underdeveloped penis (micropenis) and almost always cause infertility.
Girls given testosterone face irreversible voice deepening, clitoral enlargement, infertility, and later severe vaginal atrophy.
Surgeries (mastectomy, genital surgery) performed on adolescents are permanent. There is no going back.
Bone density, sexual function, brain development, and long-term mental health outcomes show concerning results in multiple studies.
More and more European countries (Sweden, Finland, Norway, England after the Cass Review) have already sharply restricted or stopped these treatments for minors — precisely because of the risks and the weak evidence base.
