In 1947, Dutch historian Jacques Presser wrote:
โThe new fascism will call itself anti-fascism.โ
This week we saw that mechanism up close.
Wednesday we saw a fighter who dared to say โMichelle Obama is a manโ โ and the left exploded, while they themselves have spent years denying what a woman is. Thursday the ultimate hypocrisy: โMy body my choiceโ for unborn babies, but โgenocide!โ for Gaza โ while real massacres of Christians in Nigeria are ignored. Friday cancel culture and deplatforming as the modern book burning. Saturday institutional power: government, media, universities and Big Tech working together to silence unwanted voices.
These are not isolated incidents.
This is a pattern.
The new fascism has no swastikas.
It has no dictator in uniform.
It carries rainbow flags, DEI certificates, subsidy cheques and a moral superiority complex.
It doesnโt come with boots, but with:
โHate speechโ laws and group defamation rules
Cancel attempts and employment contracts
Algorithms and fact-checkers
Parliamentary motions that make ordinary words taboo
It calls itself โtolerantโ, โinclusiveโ, โantiracistโ and โprogressiveโ โ while using exactly the same mechanisms it claims to fight: censorship, exclusion, demonisation and terror against dissenters.
This is Presserโs prediction in full glory.
Old fascism was openly authoritarian.
New fascism is smarter: it suffocates freedom in the name of freedom.
It suppresses debate in the name of democracy.
It hates in the name of love.
The big lie
They tell us โdemocracy is in dangerโ because of people like us.
In reality, democracy is in danger because of them โ institutions that can no longer tolerate criticism and declare truth taboo.

And we refuse to play along.
Build parallel structures that cannot be cancelled
