Trump hits allies with tariffs โ economy in danger! ๐ Export collapse, recession looming, NATO on the brink.
Reality:
Trump announced 17 Jan via Truth Social: 10% extra tariffs on all goods from NL, DE, FR, DK, NO, SE, FI, UK starting Feb 1 โ rising to 25% on June 1 until Greenland is sold. Reason: solidarity with Denmark (incl. NLโs 1 soldier as โhands offโ signal).
But risks โ disaster if we play smart:
ASML as trump card ๐ป๐ฅ โ EUV machines critical for US chips (Intel, TSMC US, Nvidia). Previous tariffs got exemptions because US depends on it (CHIPS Act). Likely deal again โ tariffs would sabotage US own AI/security.
Waterworks & delta expertise ๐๐๏ธ โ World leader in flood control, dams, climate adaptation. US coastal problems (Florida, NY) make this an export opportunity โ Trump buys expertise if it delivers โAmerica Firstโ.
