Friendica is a decentralized social network that connects with Mastodon, Diaspora, Bluesky, and even old systems like email.
Ideal if you have friends on different platforms and want one place to talk to everyone.

Step 1 – Choose a node

Step 2 – Create an account
Step-by-step
- Go to the website of your chosen node
- Click “Register” or “New account”
- Fill in username, email, and password
- Complete the registration (sometimes moderated, sometimes immediate)
- Verify your email → done!
Step 3 – Set up your profile and identity
Make it powerful
- Use a profile picture and bio
- Add channels (Friendica supports multiple identities)
- Enable nomadic identity — you can always move without losing data
- Connect to other networks (Mastodon, Diaspora, etc.)
Step 4 – Make connections
Friendica can connect to almost everything
- Search and add contacts from the Zot network
- Connect to fediverse (Mastodon, Friendica)
- Import contacts from other systems
Step 5 – Make your first post
Post a message, photo, or file — Friendica distributes it across your networks.
You now have a full, portable digital presence.
